Printing Units Ink delivery to the plate is precisely controlled by the Primographic inking system.The result is highly uniform colour density throughout each and every run. Colours remain consistent. Operator will appreciate the ease and quickness with which makeready can be accomplished. Also the will appreciate the way that the press can be stopped, for extended periods of time, and then started again with little (or no) material loss. Waste costs can, therefore, be minimized.
The inking principle, in combination with U.V.curable inks and the U.V. curing systems, works in harmony with the web transport system to provide a high level of process control.
The unique Primographic printing principle.
Primography uses a combination of a reverse angle, gravure metering blade and a closely tolerenced and volume controlled form roll engraving principles to continuously present a uniform thickness of ink film. A raised-image plate takes the ink it needs from the ink metering system, which returns the starved image to the fountain for complete replenishment. Because images are completely replenished and remetered, on each revolution of the inking system, ghosting is completely eliminated.
The low stiffness, raised image printing plate is presented to the inking system and to the web with tightly controlled positioning assemblies. These assemblies control the contact pressure to both the ink supply system and to the web-and since high viscosity ink is taken carefully to the raised surfaces-uniform ink deposits are made to the plate and in turn to the web. The result is minimized dot gain throughout the printing range-without sacrificing colour intensity. Fill-in, slurring and copy line width gain are minimized when printing large solids with reverse-outs and when printing fine line copy. Also, halos can be avoided. The results are images that are sharp, bold and vivid every time.
Simplicity of design.
Arpeco has aimed to reduce setup times, to simplify maintenance requirements and to allow the operator to monitor production-without having to continually adjust the machine.
The print stations have been designed to be simple and easy to use with ease of access for fast setups, cleanups and simple metering blade adjustment. The standart design incorporates the ability to preset plate cylinder positions-with respect to both the inking system and the web surface-during makeready. Then, the operator need only make fine adjustments to the contact pressures during setup. This saves time, ink and material.
Arpeco has also developed two simple, but very effective, plate cylinder relative image positioning systems-to be used prior to running any material. These systems and procedures allow the operator to easily position images in all print units to within +/- ¼” (5mm) longitudinal register to one another.
When the press is started, the operator need only make minor register adjustments-knowing that all plate gaps will be aligned.
Longitudinal register adjustment is achieved electronically- the operator can adjustment is achieved electronically-the operator can adjust the plate cylinder through 360 degrees, if needed. He can move the plates-quickly in throw off condition, to make large corrections- and then precisely at low, discrete rates for final adjustment. These features are standart and can be easily accessed. Automatic register control can be effectively and inexpensively added to these electronic controls-if they are desired. It is a critical feature of the design that longitudinal register adjustments not involve the rotation of the impression cylinders. Tension changes in the web (before or after the print unit being adjusted) are therefore not introduced. Register hunting, which is normally prevalent in inline presses with mechanically locked impression cylinders and impression cylinder gears, is eliminated.
The main line shaft components are individually dynamically balanced, torsionally properly rigid, and transport the web smoothly through the machine. This concept is critical-consistent, predictable production is the ultimate result.
Ultra Violet Curing System that work.
It is important to maximize the curing capability of the systems while minimizing temperature variations in the web. It is also critical that the operator be allowed quick access to the lamp head assemblies for preventative maintenance.
Arpeco has developed an air-cooled U.V.curing system which provides both.
The majority of air required for cooling by the system can be taken from outside the building. It is passed through the lamp head assemblies and then delivered back outside. This minimizes the use of heated,humidified and air-conditioned air-thus reducing the energy costs-and avoids drawing high negative pressures on doors and windows.
High volumes of air are taken between the lamp head assembly and the web in order to minimize temperature variations in the web. However, the lamp is left in a quiescent high temperature chamber so that effective curing wave lengths can be generated.
The curing lamp heads are capable of 120 (low),200(medium) and 300 (high) watts per Inch energy output. These power levels can be achieved automatically (proportional to
Speed), or can be set manually be the operator. The exhaust system design allows automatic variations of cooling air flow as the lamps change power output-maximum flexibility is the result.

Note please that the print repeat range in the datasheet is not 100% correct, it is only the nominal value witch is writen in the documentation from Bielloni. As you can see in the photographes we made today, there is enough space to insert a printingcilinder with a print repeat range of 1200mm. The discs we have mountet on the shown roller have got 400mm diameter. So you can see ther is enough space for a pressure roller with 1200mm printing length. This machine is in good tecnical condition, it is possible to start up the machine for a test producion in case of intest of a customer.
